Who we are

We are volunteers and we include, youth, adults, and elders from diverse sectors of the community. We welcome anyone who want to help.

Protections of San Francisco Peaks

In December 2020, Arizona Snowbowl Resort announced a new Master Development Plan that proposes expanding Snowbowl into a four-season resort on the Sacred Peaks lands that hold deep cultural, spiritual, and ecological significance for many Indigenous Nations.

For Indigenous peoples, this mountain is more than landscapes; she is a living relative that sustains life and hold teachings, stories, medicines, and responsibilities. We believe in practicing kinship, reciprocity, and respect with the mountain and all that she holds: soil, plants, trees, animals, water, fungi, and the interconnected systems that make life possible.

As conversations about future development continue, we believe it is important to better understand the long-term impacts that past and current activities may have on the mountain and surrounding ecosystems. We support continued study, care, and restoration where needed, while centering Indigenous voices, cultural values, and respectful stewardship of these sacred places.

ICF is committed to relationship-building and collaboration among Indigenous Nations who hold connections to the Sacred Peaks, creating space for shared dialogue, care, and collective responsibility for future generations.

Indigenous Community Culture Center

For two years ICF has been working with multiple partners to build a community-based proposal, including a possible site and building leased from the City of Flagstaff. For this year our plan includes hiring initial staff, building startup funding, and developing an array of community-informed programming.
